I think I know part of the answer, but will ask anyway.
In order to stream, the ecu logging parameters must already been reached before you can turn on streaming via SData ?
And if the ecu drops out of internal logging mode...it shuts down ?
It would then need to be manually restarted again ?
With the new burst options etc.
When streaming, what is being logged ? base only, or is logging exactly as it would be on the ecu via SCfg, base/enhanced/high/traction burst etc etc, just now effectively you have unlimited memory ?
So in theory I could just enable base with lots of items at high logging rates, and log them all the time a PC is connected ? and ignore burst logging ?
So if wanting to log lots...bang a cheap netbook or laptop in somewhere and let it work away ?
Streaming query
Re: Streaming query
Its logs everything as set in Scfg and also using the burst logging modes. Just gives you as much memory as your laptop has available

Thanks Ryan.
But really with almost infinite memory, you could just go nuts and log all the important things at a high rate, all the time ?
Just need to decide on a cheap netbook type device for handiness.
