I have been experiencing connection drop outs between my laptop and the syvecs periodically and it has only started happening recently. At first I thought it was a wiring fault but now I think it is definitely related to a windows 7 update.

I went back to using an old Laptop with window Xp and I haven't got a single drop out, with my windows 7 pc I can get drop outs from every 10 seconds to every 1 minute.

Has anyone else experienced this?

It could still be a poor solder joint on the RJ45 socket.

Not seen random dropouts like that except for poor cables or wiring.

Not much help I realise but I don't know anyone that has problems with windows 7.

Ok thanks, it may be firewall or something like that though I really suspect a windows update.
I was getting drop outs every 10 seconds at one point, I then switched to another windows 7 laptop and got the same thing.
But when I switched to my old Xp laptop it all worked fine, not a single drop out, and I've been using that for days now.

Wierd, but that's what you get with windows
