`hey folks just wondering if this can be be down on a DBW 03 STI
i believe its possible to the FBW cars
but has anything been desinged for the DBW i.e kits or what would i need to make this work

I imagine you mean cable throttle cars since the MY03 is neither DBW (Drive by Wire) nor FBW (Fly by Wire). In answer to the question you can assign the blip drive to the throttle bypass valve on a cable throttle car, but this may not provide enough air. The other alternative that we have used successfully in the past is to use a high voltage, high speed, high torque RC servo linked to the second throttle linkage (that was intended for cruise control), which should be able to give more than enough air for a blip. You will still need to signal to the ECU that you are about to do a downshift which will be "interesting" on an H pattern box (easier on a sequential), and it will almost certainly NEED a dog box to work at all, simply yanking on the gear lever with the clutch up on the overrun will be a recipe for damaging the baulk rings (already fragile on a 6MT transmission).
