What is the recommended method for wiring additional sensors to the S6PnP? Where do you access the unused inputs - I assume they do not appear on the main ECU PnP connectors?

Which inputs do you refer? Are you referring the auxiliary inputs backside of the ECU?
I think they can only be activated by a firmware upgrade which has never been released yet.
May be sometime..

If I look at the IO configuration and try and assign an input for (say) Oil temp, I have the following to choose from:

AN-06 (5V/TH): CTL038
AN-07 (5V/TH): CTL040
AN-08 (5V/TH): CTL042
AN 11 (5V) :CTL-047

So...where are those connections?

they are dependant on your MY of car if its a PNP

check the thread on the pin outs at the top of this forum.

Unless I've misread it the only pins are on the AUX connector and they're outputs not inputs?

AB1-4 are called AN1-4
AU1-4 are called AN5-8
AV1-4 are called AN9-12
AR1-4 are called AN13-16

so for me (My97)

AN-06 (5V/TH): CTL038 = AU-02 = O2 signal (ecu plug =B5)
AN-07 (5V/TH): CTL040 = AU-03 = MAF Signal (ecu plug =B6)
AN-08 (5V/TH): CTL042 = AU-04 = test mode connector (ecu plug =B21)
AN-11 (5V) :CTL-047 = AR-03 = Read Memory (ecu plug =B2)

so i think these'll be the same for yours (although different ECU wire, if different MY) as you're probably not inputing a NB signal, or a MAF, or using the test or read mode connectors?!?

OK, so subject to checking the nomenclature, you're saying I need to redeploy unused pins on the main ECU connectors (e.g. MAF signal)...which makes sense, but I had (naively) hoped that unassigned pins as per the CAL might appear somewhere helpful on the ECU, other than having to hack the loom to re-use inputs that I don't need.

unassigned is exactly that!

They are by design pins on the connector. you just assign what function they are doing inside the ECU.

So for example the AN7 (AU3) MAF connector can have an AIT plugged into it. So in the ECU you define AIT1 as AN7.

so yes, re-deploy.

Somewhere I'm sure Pat wrote about using DEFi senders, already connected to the DEFi controller, just punching the VSig

Thanks Steve - wasn't the CAL side of things that bothered me, just hoping there was a better way of accessing the pins instead of bodging in to the car loom. But a bodge it will have to be

Looking at the '01 onwards it looks like there are only 3 spare that I can use: MAF, and the two TGV inputs (inputs? Hmmm, thought they'd be outputs but then since I don't have any what do I know!). I'll get the cutters out lol.
