EGT with PnP LSU 4.9 kits?

Post by beetos »

Hi
Was looking for feedback from users of PnP kits with LSU4.9 boards in them, do you see EGTs?

I am seeing only default sensor value (constant 900c) on my S7+ LSU kit and struggling to understand why. Surely it must be something the LSU lambda based ECU’s can do?

No. I thought we could read EGT off the LSU sensor like the stock car does.

Yes, stock MSD81 in my 1M must have sent it over OBD2 to my OBD2 gauge with no EGT probe in exhaust as far as I know, other than LSU’s and post cat narrow bands. Not sure if it’s something the gauge itself generated or not. (P3 gauge), but pretty sure it came from stock ECU over OBD2,

So from what I can tell the approximation used by the stock ecu (for emissions purposes) is not going to work for tuning strategies even if it were implemented into the syvecs so I’ll need proper EGT probes installing. All good.
