yes im using VP E85 which is why i thought it would be alot closer to 85%
i have checked the parameters of the sensor on syvecs and it is correct,
i am thinking about adding some fuel with a higher ethanol content to get it upto atleast 85% for tuning has anyone tried this?

Can you get some small samples from other VP85 drums to see if it reads the same ?

Maybe ask some of the GTR guys, they seem to like the E85, see what their setup displays ?

just got some drums of vp e85r delivered and tested a small amount in the flew fuel sensor and exactly the same raeding as i had before 65percent.
i seen someone saying about using bioethanol used with fireplaces to bring the content up
is this safe?

Vp e85 should be 85
This bioethanol is 95 percent ethanol but don't know if it's safe to use with vp e85

Just use a E85 Test Tube.
I do this for Years now to measure the real E85 content in our German E 85.
It is always in the range of 85 -90%

I sell the E85 Test Tube for 20,- Euro.

But for vehicles running E85 fuel, proper calibration is difficult if you don't know the exact percentage of ethanol to gasoline in the fuel. Simply add water to the first line on the testers and then pour in the E85 sample to the second line. No problem using %96.6 or pure %99.9 ethanol. I do my own blend using %96.6 or %99.9 ethanol gallons by mixturing with gasoline.

So VP E85 could be just the naming/branding as it is very popular but it may contain E65 and perform better than E85.

E65 is enough to advance huge amount of ignition to reach MBT. You need more energy and thats in the part of %35

I guess the other aspect, what is the other 35% ?

What is the 15% with pump E85 ?

There are many different grades of petrol, so what is the other fuel used ? It has to be a variable too.

The energy content of 1 liter of ethanol is 5500 k/cal when compared to 7600 k/cal for gasoline. So you need %35 more ethanol to get same energy of gasoline. It is the knock resistance and cooling effect that makes the e85 a good choice.

The other part(%35) of the blend i use is pump gas. Not sure what VP use.

just got hold of some sunoco e85r
put it in the flex fuel here are the results
sunoco e85r = 81%
vp racing = 61%

why is this?
