Not the quickest tbh. If i add a gauge for RPM and set it to a high refresh rate and scale it to 1000rpm i dont see anything showing

datalog it. You'd hope it cranks higher than zero

Yeh its showing zero RPM, looking at the sync log the signals from the crank/cam are very very weak.

I'd say yes, your voltage thresholds are not low enough for it to "see" the teeth at the speed it is currently spinning at.
And for me, I'd also say the cam trigger is reverse polarity ( or else possibly using rising edge might keep it happy ).
It will never start when the syncscope is red like that
Adjust settings and it should work ok

Re: 2003 Ford Focus RS - sensors question ?
Sorry to be a pain steve but what should I be wanting to do?
For ref the crank & cam is as follows for 100rpm on
high trigger : 0.25
Low trigger : -0.25
Do I want to open these up to say - high : 0.45 / low : -0.45
Or close them down to say - high :0.15 / low :-0.15?

looking more healthy.....but that rising edge/reverse polarity still annoys me lol.

Re: 2003 Ford Focus RS - sensors question ?
So, Big steps forward.
Car starts and the DSG can select 1st / Neutral / Reverse!
I cant seem to get it to select past first tho so not sure whats going on there. I think there is a few settings needing changed with in the gear selection cals. Its starting to get a bit out my depth!
Also idle is horrendous which isnt helping things. Really need to have a look at that , hopefully there is a how to on setting up idle control !
My only other question is does the S7 differ from the S6 for fan control? There is a slight chance the relay is goosed but as these are extremely rare its a £60 swap out and see. But i thought id ask the question first.
I currently have the Fan01 set in pins to Fuel 05. But when i try to activate the fan the fan really does some rapid clicking and the fan doesnt spin? Should that work? I had it into Fuel05 in the S6 and it worked fine? Tested the fan with 12v and it works as expected.....
Half of me just wants to run all new fan cables and do away with the expensive fan relay....

Re: 2003 Ford Focus RS - sensors question ?
if idle control is above you or a problem...simple,,turn it off.
Sort a decent hot stable idle with it turned off, and then later you can work on it.
As for fan control, I'd doubt the ecu's are different. Whether you have the same settings in the calibration, I do not know.
What exactly does this fancy relay do ? Is it a PWM controller or something ? And exactly how are you activating it ? And is the output actually solidly on ?
