User Defined Frequency Sensor
User Defined Frequency Sensor
I have a fuel flow sensor that outputs a variable frequency signal. Is it possible to bring it in as a user defined sensor? The sensor linearization only allows voltage on the X axis. Ideas?

Re: User Defined Frequency Sensor
I came across this too with a flow sensor I bought to try and use for a WI setup....50-115Hz it seemed to do.
I couldnt find or think of any way of getting the ecu to use that signal
Really...only frequency type inputs we have so far are likes of cam sensor, wheel speed, crank sensor...Not sure how you could even make use of those inputs to do something.
You can buy frequency to analogue convertors, but they seem to have considerable quoted lag times, 1-2s which is a bit crap.
In the end I just used a pressure sensor instead, and it's worked out ok.

Re: User Defined Frequency Sensor
Flex fuel is a frequency sensor, sending 50-150Hz for 0-100% alcohol.
Whether you can create a custom sensor based on on that as a starting point I don't know - otherwise at least as a fuel comp sensor you will get a percent reading that you could log, perhaps?

Re: User Defined Frequency Sensor
I had thought about the flex fuel myself, but it didnt actually seem clear what the input was and I know there are some sensors that are analogue.
Given the inputs are clearly capable of receiving such a signal, it would make sense to have some software options to make use of one.

And if you're already using the flex fuel input...

We're stuffed with this one at present anyway lolTimH wrote:...then I think you're stuffedC. Ludwig wrote:And if you're already using the flex fuel input...

There any chance this gets implemented in the near future?
