Setup 2.15.15 - Can't Install Ethernet Driver

Hi guys.

I am trying to download the new software so I can get the laptop to talk to my S6 Plus, when I click to run/install it a Blue box pops up and it says;

Could not install ethernet driver - windows\system32\drivers\LfNtSp50.STS

Will exit setup now.

I have attached a screenshot below.

Any ideas what is going on as I am computer illiterate at best.

Hi

Are you doing a fresh install, or upgrading an existing software installation? With Windows 10, I find I have to always restart the PC first before upgrading/installing, else the installer baulks when it gets to the Ethernet drivers.

Edited to add that after the restart, don't run any other software before the installer, as this may lock up the Ethernet drivers again.

Hi, It's a fresh install on a new laptop.

I have just tried your suggestion (download and restart then run download) and it's moved onto another problem, the same Blue screen has popped up again but it now says;

"Could not write ExampleCalibration.SC
Will exit set up now"

Any idea what is going on?

That's a new one for me.

I would try installing without the demo/exmaple files (just select "no" when prompted to install them), also perhaps try right-clicking on the setup file, and select "Run as administrator". This should make no difference, but I have seen stranger things, working in the IT industry.

I don't think it's giving me an option to install without demo/example files, i'll try the right click run as admin now.

Wahoo! It's installed correctly.

I ignored the option to "install without demo/example files" (your screenshot helped, thanks) and it worked a treat. Off to the car now to run some diagnostics
