Its not an 'alcohol' content sensor for starters, eg, get some petrol and put water in it and put your Ethanol content sensor to action and see what it tells you
Do they read low? I cant tell you but I do know that they are confused badly by water content

E85 can be legally as low as E60 from what I've heard.

You'd like to hope that VP branded expensive race fuel would be what it says though ?
Of course without doing lots of testing, who's to say whether it's the fuel, or the sensor..or its calibration.
Re: unsure about my flex fuel reading! e85 reading low!!!
It is true to say that the sensor is "fooled" by water - shame really.
And, yes, would agree that VP race fuel ought to be 85% though!
Calibration should be Syvecs default for this sensor - 50Hz=0% and 150Hz = 100%; worth checking I guess.

That's tim I will check that in the syvecs
Iam seeing 7percent with normal pump fuel

7% is normal for Vpower or Tesco Momentum.
95 RON is usually around 3 or 4%.

Can you get some other drums of E85 to sample ?
Ultimately as long as the fuel vs sensor reading is consistent, you'll be tuning for it anyway so a different reading from what it should be isnt a big deal.
But the big question is why is it so different, especially when a race E85 you'd like to think should be a solid 85%
