Help with comms plug pin numbering
Help with comms plug pin numbering
Hi I am trying to wire up the bluetooth module on s6PNP on my type r. As I look into the ECU at the comms plug which are pins 1 and 2?
Re: Help with comms plug pin numbering
Not sure of the orientation of the socket on the PnP board, but if you take the mating connector that you will plug in to the ECU, with the latching tab at the top, then pin 1 is on the left:
Re: Help with comms plug pin numbering
Cheer Tim that's the ethernet plug in that image. It's the 6 pin 'comms' socket I am interested in per the pinout guide on the forum in order to wire in the blue tooth module. There is no numbering on the plug I am using as to which pin relates to which number.

Re: Help with comms plug pin numbering
No, that's the plug for the comms socket, not an Ethernet connector.

Pin 2 - RS232 TX
Pin 3 - Comms GND
Pin 4 - CAN HI
Pin 5 - CAN LO
Pin 6 - Power GND

Er...yes...I KNOW!!! The answer's in the picture of the RJ25 connector I posted (it is not a a picture of Ethernet plug).
Re: Help with comms plug pin numbering
Thanks Tim - Sorry I'm a trifle confused as you can see. I'll give that a go
Re: Help with comms plug pin numbering
LOL no problem.
Have you got a cable with an RJ12 plug on? Just be aware that many modem or telephone type plugs only have the middle 4 pins populated, so you won't be able to access pin 1 if you use one of those.
