Shiftlight/Downshift light

Is it possible to invert the function of the shift light? i.e. light comes on when engine revs are BELOW the set target rather than above the target.

The intention is to use the light as a prompt for down shifts to mitigate the risk of shifting too early and over reving the engine.

Could be easily done with a relay of course but would sooner have the ECU do it if possible.
