I'm running 1.1.1 and would like to update the firmware so that I can use full knock control.
I've flashed the ECU with the 1.3.1 firmware and imported my 1.1.1 calibration file. The ECU goes out of sync with an knock input not defined type error but there is not the option to configure a knock input and the knock setup options have gone.
Any ideas whats wrong?

Jez,
the problem may be that you've tried to put a calibration that has not got the concept of knock control onto firmware that does, and the default values are not sensible. The normal way to ensure that things like this don't cause a problem are....

the problem may be that you've tried to put a calibration that has not got the concept of knock control onto firmware that does, and the default values are not sensible. The normal way to ensure that things like this don't cause a problem are....
- Save your current calibration
- Upgrade the firmware
- Program a default calibration and go online
- Disconnect from the ECU but keep the default calibration open
- Import your original calibration into the default calibration, note which things did NOT import
- Fix things that did not import. In I/O configuration you'll need to define knock sensors and cylinders 7 & 8 when going from 1.1.1 to 1.3.1, for example
- Save the calibration and close it
- Re-connect to the ECU
- Load the calibration you have just saved, this will load and flash it into the ECU
