Fuel tank vent/Vac line question

Post by BlueBugEye »

Now that I'm running Syvecs......

Am I correct that I can remove the 3 way valve from the fuel tank vent line? I'm talking about the plastic valve in front of the Manifold that has a vacuum connection on the bottom and then connects the fuel tank vent to the intake?

If I do remove it do I just link the vent line up so it goes straight from the tank to the intake?

I wouldn't just connect it direct, positive pressure will be present on boost and that won't do your fuel tank any favours. Normally the pipe just gets blanked off, the fuel filler cap should allow the tank to vent without building excess pressure. You could just leave it there, though, it shouldn't be detrimental other than the weight it's adding to the car ;)

Hope this helps,

Pat.

All removed including the purge valve - just did it to get rid of a load of tubing to tidy up around the manifold for the fuel hoses etc.
