Re: Syvecs map sensor identification

Fitted today and having it calibrated this evening so all good, hopefully she will start again! The plugs were slightly wet and very black so gave them a clean, probably due to the map sensor failing

Re: Syvecs map sensor identification

If you buy a reputable replacement sensor it should come with a calibration sheet. A KA sensor for example is nominally 0.5V=0bar and 4.5V=full range but it will have a spec sheet with it stating the 0 bar voltage "offset" (typically within a few mV of 0.5V, e.g. 0.498V) and "span&qu...

Perfect thanks mate. I’ll wait till calibration is checked prior to trying to start it

Re: Syvecs map sensor identification

If you know whether it's a 3, 4, 5 bar or whatever, that's mostly all you need to know. Or just buy one that suits the boost ranges you need to operate with and just adjust the sensor calibration to suit when fitted. Ryan seems to think it’s a old Syvecs 4bar one! I assume I still need to calibrate...

Re: Syvecs map sensor identification

Odd, usually that sort of thing is quite reliable. But if in doubt, replace it. It's a critical sensor so needs to be right. Yeah many people been saying they are very reliable usually, I’m sure this one is very temperamental. Being 10yrs old it’s maybe just giving up now? Searched everywhere but c...

Re: Syvecs map sensor identification

stevieturbo wrote: Sat May 08, 2021 9:42 pm Is the sensor not working or what's up ?

I hate those little silicone hoses for anything. They're just very flimsy.
It’s messed up a few times now, the last time it completely packed up, it has since shown some readings again, but it is 100% time to replace it. Can’t have it happening again

Re: Syvecs map sensor identification

Does it have any markings on it ? Does it say Syvecs ? And that crappy silicone hose looks like it's starting to split already, get some proper rubber hose on it @Ryan.g supplied this as a Syvecs map sensor in 2011, I just don’t know which type it is. Strange about the vacuum hose on the map sensor...

And the person doing the tuning is far more important than whether they use a dyno or not.
Yea gave them a call just now and no go, so gave syvecs a call and they are going to call me back, they suggested ryan.g but he's currently in Dubai.

Thanks mate
