Aftermarket DBW Throttle

Post by Johnny G »

Outline: I've got a Supra, VVTi with the DBW throttle.
Problem: No aftermarket intake for the Supra (2JZ) has provisions for DBW.

Have Syvecs successfully used any aftermarket (or OEM?) throttle body that's around 80-100mm and DBW? I'm looking for something that can be attached to the end of a Greddy-style intake manifold, like the Q45 throttle body that's used currently.

Look forward to any answers.
Cheers,
Johnny

A bit more digging has shown the later Q45 engine'd cars (and M45) come with an electronic throttle. The PCD looks similar. Will carry on looking.

I've bought the Greddy style intake manifold, which is usually fitted with a Q45 throttle body (cable operated). I've gone for an LS7 DBW throttle body. Should be a mappers challenge!

Has anyone calibrated an LS7 (or an LS2) DBW throttle on the Syvecs?

Ok, the build has gone very well, as you can see the LS7 TB looks very nice on the Greddy plenum

I've got the pednal now from a Corvette Z06, so there's no issue there, with OEM pigtails fitting both the pedal and the TB.
Also, I've got the PID from MoTeC to characterise the TB, not sure if it's any use, but here it is.

Should be fun for Ryan.
