Believe it or not, this was devastating to hear, they are the best of the best, and so is the car. Now I’m lost at who to have tune it, if I had time I’d just take a training course. :(

I have tuned many cars over the years with different systems. I built a beta test car for Frankenturbo using Eurodyne, nascar based street engine using Accel, and tons of cars with including a 1000hp car in Hotrod magazine.

However, this software is NOT user friendly at all. I am very disappointed right now, I am lost as to the functionality of this at this point.

You are lucky there are many capable people here willing to help you and stick up for the product you are openly throwing under the bus. I understand your frustration but the root cause of this is you have selected the wrong people to provide you the basics (including full software set up and training - which I and many others do), rather than anything else mentioned.

We are all very lucky to have access to what is chosen to be used in industry as the preferred option, be that any field you care to look at involving internal combustion engines and power train controls, they work and are very easy to use, be that by a professional or novice alike. I've taught many people such as yourself and not a single one has said anything but positive things. No ones opinion has been bought or solicited in either way.

I suggest you vent your frustrations in person to the people who promised you the world and delivered you an Atlas, starting with your Dealer then your Tuna, then let Syvecs know this and they can weed out these so saving others that miss fortune if this works out to be your source of frustration.

p.s. The comment of the tuna not willing to help cause he did not profit from a sale is moronic. I support many users who did not buy the hardware from me its not rocket science to work out how to service people right. As Tim said part of the deal of buying from a dealer is the product works and you get the basics covered off, everything else is just like in life, you pay someone to help you get what you want, you may even be fortunate enough to be taught along the way so you then have a really enjoyable time in the whole adventure of working on your own car, especially someone like you who has tuned and built your own stuff. Unless you are as Donald Trump said recently talking about a family member "A super Genius" then you wont need help from anyone, < which I am yet to see in reality :)

And presumably after entering the correct config data, device then program...you have tried to clear any errors ?

And it has to be said, the software really is one of the best parts of the ecu. Yes it is very in depth, with massive amounts to it. But it's leaps and bounds better than all this other shit that seem more interested in having lots of little colourful displays on the screen...than software that's actually easy to use and navigate.

Far too many software producers of other ecu's must think it's some sort of computer game, than tuning software you need to be able to use in a car.

LMS made the adjustments via teamviewer, he seemed to know what he was doing, could not clear the code. He’s working with Syvecs to see what may be the issue. I was disappointed in Syvecs for the reason that all I heard was Syvecs is the best, it’s amazing, etc. I thought wow, this will be great to work with!

What I failed to take into consideration was that 99% of people saying that had never actually tuned there own car with Syvecs, there tuner did it for them, then they would brag about it. So it seems unless you’re trained as a Syvecs tuner, there is a steep learning curve, compared to what I’m used to.

I was not planning on that...I have contacted all the big name Porsche tuners I could find in the US, and tried to purchase some of there time to spend an hour and put together a file for my setup based on all my specs just to get me started in the right direction. I’ve done it for others with EfiLive. Another tweaked file from a similar car with flex fuel, ID2000’s, 3076’s, 3.5 bar map, big cams, automatic trans, etc, would get me much closer than I am now, and Id be sure the basic important changes are covered.

I tried to rescale my map with a new 3.5 bar and it would barely run, tried to rescale my injectors, would barely run. I’m having a really hard time here and clearly having trouble getting a grip on this software in the 30 minutes per week I have to use it right now. Bad timing, lol.

The Porsche tuners would not assist unless I sent them the car for a full tune at $3k to start, again, I need the car to run a little, and put on a couple miles to make sure it’s ready for a dyno first. The car is not ready to send off, this was not some bolt on kit and will need some trial and error bugs worked out. Like the error code I’m trying to diagnose now, any fuel system issues, boost leaks, waste gate and BOV adjustments, oil leaks, wiring issues for anything like the flex fuel or any other sensors, the trans built after a test drive, etc. Its a massive custom build, not ready for a dyno yet.

Thanks for any help, I feel stuck because I currently don’t have time, there is a massive nursing shortage, and without time to learn this on my own, and no Porsche tuner willing to take my money to send me a known working file from a similar car setup to my specs to start with. I’m still at square one. Lol

My hope is that with a little help, I can get the bugs worked out, then try to convince the tuner that I want to still do the tune on the car. Once I can assure them it’s dyno ready. 🙏

If you rescaled the map sensor correctly, which is very easy to do. It would not have changed how it runs from before you made those changes.

So if if running did change, you did something wrong.

Yes the software is very involved, but it is leaps and bounds better than the likes of EFI live. So yes there will be a learning curve. That applies to any system though.

Changing for larger injectors in itself shouldn't have a massive impact on running when you get the numbers right. However the 2000s are a big jump, and never that great down low anyway. So there will be retuning involved regardless.

But timing is unfortunate... nobody on the planet expected what's happening right now.

But again, email syvecs support with the relevant info to see if they can help. Or your dealer should be able to assist ?

Your dealer is no clown, so I am sure he will sort it out.

There is absolutely no reason for you to take the car to anyone especially given your background and enthusiasm to learn, save your money is my advice OR pay someone who will teach you at same time so then you can do it all yourself ;) once you know the fundamentals and build some familiarity (with the system) you will love it.

p.s. Take care of yourself too, Corona is no joke !

Hello,

I'm the tuner that Scott (Nitrorocket) mentioned.

I saw some of the ''nice'' comments about me not willing to help, i wanted to chime in to clarify some facts.

First of all, i own a Porsche tuning company and have customers all around the world, we have our own engine and power packages.
I provide full service to my customers, preparing the harness, starting guidance beginning from the date they receive the ECU in their hands.
Starting the car and then full tuning + supporting at the events etc...

I normally do NOT tune Porsches with other companies built engines, (not to get involved in drama if something goes wrong + business decision for my company ) I have dealt with couple projects in the past which does not belong to us and spent sooo much time to fix things that was not under our responsibility. Thinking from a business perspective, it does not make any sense. ''Time'' is very valuable.

When Scott contacted me almost a year ago it seemed like a regular single build etc.. and i thought i can help then he didnt contact me for a long time, then i learned that its more than a basic built, he called also my dealer in USA and we spoke in details and i decided not to get involved.
I'm not questioning him, its his project but it just doesnt fit into our business model.

Its a decision to protect me, my company and my current customers, its very easy to write comments there without knowing the facts.

Regards,
Emre

I don't think anyone is questioning you Emre with what is a perfectly sensible business approach. It is always better for a single shop to take care of everything, than getting multiple parties involved.

There is more question over the support offered by whoever he did buy the ecu from, although it isnt even clear if he has contacted them.

But I'm sure he'll get there.

I appreciate the help guys, This is some thing that for my entire life I would just sit down and put in the hours and figure it out, but unfortunately in my current situation my time is very limited. So your help does truly mean a lot.

I have contacted Both LMS and Syvecs, I believe they are working on looking for any software issues.

EMRE, I just responded to your email you had sent me. Please take a moment and read it. You are the fastest tiptronic Porsche tuner in the world, and I totally understand your position in putting your name on the final tune on a vehicle that somebody else built.

Easy, everyone agrees now, get your dealer to sort this out.

End of the day Its just a car, albeit a modern day version of a hitler youth inspired rear engine nazi bus. Its no different to any other car (fundamentals are constant) so find the time, and put your own name to it mate 8-)
