CAN BUS Cal Switch

Post by Steve »

I currently have a S6 in my Supra and I have added a DBW setup which Ryan has been helping me with. I have also added some additional sensors for the ECU to monitor and display on a Dash2 via the CAN BUS.
It appears I have now used all the inputs on the ECU (I need to check with Ryan that I haven't cocked up somewhere when he is available) so was wondering if it was possible to use something like this to scroll through cal switch settings. (Positions are displayed on the Dash2 anyway).

I was thinking just having + & - buttons for Engine Configs and + &- for Trac settings. The PKP2200 would do nicely.
It appears they are fully programmable and have plenty of CAN options so hopefully they could be configured to talk to the Syvecs which can then set the cals as needed.

Or is there something already available to do this? I saw some Cal options in the Custom CAN settings which hopefully can be configured for this.

Cheers
Steve

Just need Syvecs to open up the CAN bus protocol to allow control, and Toucan will be able to do this :)

Is this likely to happen?

I think it will, yes - just don't know when. Really need Ryan or Pat to comment.

Its already possible on S8 and will be soon on S6 but for time being you will have to send a set message and can not adjust the ecu to listen for a set message

So I can just remove the CAL switches for now and just leave it set on one setting via a laptop until this update happens?

Any update on being able to control the cal switches by using the CANBUS?

Have I read it right that the CAL's can now be controlled via CANBUS on the S6 with the new firmware?

Yes - new firmware allows CAL up and CAL down requests to be sent by CAN. Working on Toucan implementation at the moment.
