unable to connect anymore ?

Post by Tweaks »

hi

hoping someone on here can help me get back 'online' with my ecu.
originally everything was working as it should and loaded on a start up file that Simon sent me.
Simon then came out to map the car and everything was fine, now i've tried getting into scal and it won't connect ? keeps bringing up unidentified network and in public.
i've tried a different cable, restarting laptop and even reinstalling the software but the same thing occurs,i cannot understand why it would work perfectly and then not identify the ecu/network.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

many thanks

Tim

Hi Tim

Please check if SNetServer.exe is working(just have look under Process in the Task Manager)...

Second bit,do you try connect to your Syvecs with opened CAL which send you Simon?

If yes Syvecs will NOT connect if you have opened CAL(or CAL which you opened before you are want to connect to ECU)

Hi Jura

i'll check the process tomorrow night after work but it seems to be a problem with not making a network connection.

have tried plugging cable in then opening scal
opening scal then plugging in cable
opening a cal file when plugged in
starting a new cal when plugged in

just won't seem to work online ?
works perfectly well offline.

many thanks

Hi Tim

Try log off on your Windows or try restart the laptop and after that try again connect Syvecs

I have noticed on some machines using Windows 7 (32 or 64bit) that by default the network driver has the option, allow to sleep when not connected.

As the ECU is not seen by windows as a valid connection it puts the network adapter to sleep, just disable this feature under network adapter settings :)

I have the same issue with a W7 x64. have done all the above and it wont connect. just wont find the ECU.
Have tried an identical machine and it works 1st time.
reloaded nic drivers etc etc.
SNET is just not picking up the ECU.

really annoying.

Is SNET seeing the network card?

Can you post a screenshot?
