Hi, Can anyone explain what the function of the Cylinder Trim Adder Learning is?
I'm guessing it's a means to keep each cylinder right on the verge of knock?
Thanks!
Cylinder Trim Adder Learning
Re: Cylinder Trim Adder Learning
Yes that is exactly what it does. If enabled, and turned on in the relavent call it will slowly advance the ignition on a per cylinder basis until the more familiar knock control strategy is pulling the target amount of ignition to compensate. Of course you will need to balance your knock control with the adder learning especially the rates at which both can happen so you don't end up with the trim adder being too keen and the knock control struggling the cope.
But before you could use this, you need to fully map your knock control, that means working out the correct frequency, the most appropriate intergrator time constant, setting the gain and most importantly getting the knock thresholds set on each cylinder so the knock control actually works!
