Hello,
I'm picking out a TPS and am debating between a 10-bit Hamlin or Honeywell unit and a 12-bit Penny+Giles unit. I'm wondering the A-D converter resolution on the ECU because I would like to avoid over-specifying the TPS (it would also be nice for some data error analysis).

the ADC resolution of the S series ECUs is presently 10 bits.

Great post, I noticed on my F88 the amount of dither is allot more than with my VBOX3i which is 12bit on AN inputs, its specifically noticed when doing map/bap pressure to altitude recordings as I have been in validation testing. Obviously this is critical when selecting the right range sensor for the job at hand. On the 12bit on the VBOX3i I can readily use a 75psi pressure sensor to accurately measure altitude variations +- 1m easily with little 'noise' the same sensor hooked to the F88 (S8C) is useless, but a 30psi sensor is ok.
Both need some filtering when looking in sview channels, this screen shot below shows the effect I am trying to type above

1009mb day @ sea level at time of recording
driving to location roughly 9m above that according to Google maps and GPS reference, highest point is a hill of roughly 193m, see cursor reference....
and making simple maths channel in Life View to derive altitude via pressure difference off the BAP sensor (30psi gauge sensor)
The red and green are unfiltered, and you can see the noise of the 10 bit AD
