"could not open device for streaming"

Post by dr_jones »

Got this errror yesterday after successfully streaming data, analysing and then going back for another run.

Same laptop, same SS version, same cal, same everything - also i can still download logs and read program cals etc etc.

Not dug too far into this - like swapping out current laptop for my old one I uses to use - which i will do later - just wondered if anyone else has ever seen the same?

Yes, I did, last week.

Gave up as didn't have time to investigate.

Yeah I always had this until the other day. My ecu was set to log on rally stages via a cal override switch on the dash and when I tried to stream the switch was always off.

If your issue is the same, check your logging criteria first.

Thanks chaps - mine turned out to be related to the fact that the engine wasn't actually 'running' at the time - was trying to capture start up knock signal and include in the overall streamed log - hadn't ever had need to do this - didn't note that the steaming doesn't start until engine is actually running (apparently)...

To log without the engine running, put the start engine speed and stop engine speed both to 0.
