I wanted the S8 at the time, but financing was a prob

We all do ! lol S6Plus is a halfway house...I'm still debating whether it's worth it or to save for the S8. My brain tells me just to wait and get an S8 ( or S8Plus if it ever becomes available ) but racing head says the S6PLus is a better option for this year

Bank balance says I'm not doing any of them lol

F88/S8 is the tried and proven one, hard to argue with a platform that has been around for ~12 years and still leads the pack in many respects, least you know it works and has 99.99% of bugs ironed out of it

Nothing a X10 expander wont fix, allows flexibility to move that to where you need it and run over CAN so less wiring or use a D5 dash which has some more inputs outputs, as you need a good display anyway hard to beat the good old F88 platform

I know. Just keep stuff tidy. Why I mentioned that, I recommended it to a custom where the S8 needs to control the Subaru 5 speed automatic transmission in this legacy. Hopefully we can see the light of that this year.

What is the best implementation on a low cost budget to run the wires from the ecu to the engine?

Do I use bulk head connectors?

bulkhead connector = more cost, unless you get them for free

You only need bulkhead connectors if going through a bulkhead and you want a means of disconnecting it all.

Or a similar connect if you feel you need to split the main loom at some points

They can be very handy to have, but not essential at all. And they certainly will add cost.

You are correct. I just dont like the idea off all of those wires all the way back to the ecu.

The car is my DD, so wanted the ability to keep it tidy between building and tuning.

Any recommendations for connectors and any pics that can be shown?

Deutsch Autosport connectors are the ones many (and I) use. Reckon on around £200 for the connector pair though!

Here's a loom I was working in recently with 2x AS bulkhead connectors (before the DR25 was shrunk down, boots put on, etc.)
