I Tried to make a search, but I didn't get the answer (or missed it)
I try to remove the pins of my ECU harness and also on the connector under the hood of my Subaru GC8. Which tools do you use to remove those pins ?

Re: Pins removal tool
I've never de-pinned the loom-side plugs in the first picture, but looks like they need a shaped tool to insert from the front. You can usually use a very small jewellers screwdriver or a very thin dowel-type tool to try and find which bit of the terminal needs to be depressed to release the terminal.
The engine bay connectors are much easier. Use a pair of pliers to pull out the white retaining plastic piece from the front. Be careful as the plastic does get brittle with age.
You will then be able to use a jewellers screwdriver to prise the plastic locking peg that's on each terminal to release it. Easier to do than explain!

Re: Pins removal tool
Usually a inserting a small pin type object in the opening above the electrical contact pin can push down the release lock for each pin.
A Small set of picks is handy for that sort of thing

Re: Pins removal tool
Thanks guys,
It worked !! So I tried removing ECU pins using tiny screw drivers as dental picks
Just to post some pictures for peoples coming here.
ECU Pins from the harness :
1) Unlock pins which are retained by white locker
2) I inserted the dental pick or tiny screw driver in the hole above the ECU pin I wanted to depin. Unfortunately I tried to make a movement in "down" direction while I pulled out the pin, but the good movement is to make UP direction... So I broke the little plastic clip inside the connector. This is not a problem because when I repin it, it will be locked into position using the white plastic locker.
Now let's depin the brown connector in the engine bay
1) With pliers I carefully removed the white plastic locker, the red seal will be removed as well.
This is what you have now
2) I used my tiny screw driver as dental pick again to depin. I instered the screw driver just above the pin and pull out the wire
Now I will be able to modify my OEM harness to add wires for AVCS and other stuffs without cutting/splicing the OEM one on the car. I will use a spare harness as donor.
