S6 PnP and wasted spark

Post by Motoka »

Hi I have an 99 Sti type r running an S6 PnP. I have converted to newage coil on plug and am running wasted spark. The car runs smoothly, there are no misfres etc but it feels flat and is down on power. I changed turbos at the same time and initially thought it was turbo related but have now ruled this out. I would like to rule out if it could relate to the coil on plug conversion.

I did not change any pin assignments with the mod given both the old and new configuration are wasted spark. I have set dwell time to 4 ms. Are there any other settings I should be considering? Cheers.

I very much doubt it will be the COP conversion, unless you have a poorly coil pack in there.

I am interested to know how you ruled out the turbo.

Thanks Paul I swapped another turbo on known to be good to rule it out so just wanted to rule out ignition before I went further with diagnostics.

No it's an odd one. Compression 135-140 psi and cam timing is ok.
