S6 Shutdown in a 2011/2012 JDM STI

Hello:
Have anyone seen this behaviour before?
1) If the ignition is left on long, the S6GP when starting just cuts out and looses power
2) Unplugging the S6gp for a while does not resolve the issue.
3) Install the OEM ECU, start the car and turn it off. Install the S6GP and it starts.
Is this a Security issue?
Any thoughts to what the problem could be?
