I popped to the workshop and did it on my spare block last night, it did indeed work great.

Re: Bosch knock sensor
I can confirm that an M8 helicoil works nicely in M10 x 1.25, I havne't tried it on the block, but on a M10 1.25 nut. I screwed the helicoil into the nut, then screwed an M8 bolt into the helicoil. The STI tap for the M8 helicoil seems to be about 9.8mm x 1.25, so inserting a M8 helicoil into a 10 x...

Re: Bosch knock sensor
Thanks Steve. I've ordered some M8 helicoils, as you say the purchase hasn't got to be 100%; I've got a spare block so I'll give it a go and see what happens. I don't think screwing a stud in, flushing it and drilling/tapping will work, not with M8 anyway as there not enough metal. If the helicoil i...

Re: Bosch knock sensor
Hi, I'm presuming you are replacing (or have replaced) your stock 4G sensors with Bosch units? I was about to post a thread about the asking about the virtues of the stock 4G sensor, Vs the Bosch 0261231148; and I found this thread. I have both but the stock sensor has no ground, just signal, and th...

Re: Additional 5v outputs for sensors
You can attach multiple sensors to a single 5v reference output.
I wouldn't have thought using an ignition output was a good idea.

Re: Linking X10 to S6, and other queries.
All sorted now, thanks to Pat & Ryan for their help.
X10 is flashed, DBW output is happily assigned in I/O, and DBW is working.
Cheers,
Jezz.

Re: Linking X10 to S6, and other queries.
As ever that's a great reply Pat, thanks. :) Got you regarding the termination, understood. I'm not sure if you've seen but I'm currently in conversation with Ryan via the Syvecs support email address regarding a couple of things. Firstly, if I assign Slave 11 to the DBW output I'm told that it is a...

Re: expand logging memory
Pavlo, can you expand on how this feature works please, as I can't get it to work and it would be useful to log to file.pavlo wrote:In sdata go to "Device->Read Streamed Data"
It just seems to download the data stored on the ECU, not log a continuous stream.
Thanks,
Jezz.

Re: Linking X10 to S6, and other queries.
Hi Pat, Thanks for the reply, I was working on a test loom last night when you replied. I have got the X10 and the S6 linked, and was able to assign a temp sensor to a slave input; so that's all good. Can you advise on how best to terminate the Can bus? Should the resistors be outboard at the very e...

Linking X10 to S6, and other queries.
Hi, I have an X10 which I want to link to my S6, is there a dummies guide on doing this, please? Also, what is considered best practice regarding sensors and the expander? Would I be right in saying it's be keep mission critical stuff, TPS, PPS, Cam, Crank, MAP (then AIT and ECT where available inpu...
