Re: Sync Error Review Please
Michael, You're welcome regards the help :) Sampling rate for the Crank and Cam sensors is again a little bit of a misnomer / misunderstanding.... there is no "sampling" in the traditional sense one might associate with a sensor (eg 100Hz sampling on analogue inputs on lesser ECUs), so it ...

Re: Sync Error Review Please
Michael, I've had a chance to look at the synclogs now and have found the following : 1) The crank waveform is not a VR sensor as I though it might be - it is Hall Effect. Not sure if it is connected to an AB or AU input - if it is AU then the thresholds are not adjustable. 2) The waveform shows a s...

Re: Sync Error Review Please
Michael, I'll have a look at the synclogs tomorrow - this machine hasn't got a VM installed to allow me to run the SSuite (I'll get round to it one day). But I have at least spotted an issue with what you have posted : Crank is Rising Edge: High Trigger: 3.0v Low Trigger: 1.0v Sounds like you may ha...

Re: Cruise/Volume s.wheel buttons
The cruise buttons are normally connected to the OEM ECU on the later DBW models. On the earlier cable throttle models the cruise was implemented by a separate unit which actuated a secondary throttle cable - in that case you wouldn't be able to pick up the cruise buttons at the ECU. I don't recall ...

Re: Home made Cal Switch
As an added note... This was for a 12 position THREE wire CAL switch, but if you only have a THERMISTOR type input left then you can make a 12 position TWO wire switch by using a chain of increasing resistor values : 300R, 360R, 442R, 549R, 715R, 953R, 1k33, 2k0, 3k3, 6k65, 20k Start with 300R betwe...

Re: Worksheet and Layout Export/Import
Hi there! I believe this is on the ToDo list, you're not alone in requesting it so watch this space :) In the meantime you can probably achieve the result that you want by copying the registry tree for the SCal application from the original machine to the one that wants a copy of your settings. Less...

Re: CAN BUS Speeds
Hiya Brendan! We produce a CAN bridge which we use for vehicle integration work and that seems to be doing a pretty decent job :) We'll have a look at whether it makes sense to devote the engineering time and effort to making the CAN implementation more generic with regard to what runs at what speed...

Re: CAN BUS Speeds
Brendan, the default speed for the CAN bus on an S8 when configured to "Custom CAN" is 1Mbps. With regard to receiving wheel speeds etc across CAN, there is support for the 1Mbps Bosch Motorsport M4 ABS stream, but not for the 500kbit implementation. Furthermore there is no guarantee that ...

Re: What Pin for rolling launch
John, Cal Override is the "original" way of doing it, but as explained it doesn't work well if you want to run proper ALS as well... in your case it looks like you just need to provide a Cal Override switch, and the pins that you have listed are suitable for that purpose - ie switching to ...

Re: Antilag PPS demand for S6
Looks like this is one feature that should have been brought across from the S8 to the S6 but it hasn't made it yet. Will (re)insert it into the ToDo list. Watch this space
