Re: Knock sensor - shielded cable?

Welcome to my car. Someone half-installed the Syvecs with no wideband lambda, stock boost controller and stock MAP sensor. Jamie at EvoTune said I should replace the knock sensor with the wideband one and I ordered that from you along with the other bits he recommended. I'm assuming the two wires co...

Re: Knock sensor - shielded cable?

So. I made the mistake of assuming this would be easy. Where do I wire my Bosch Wideband Knock sensor into this? https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-pKchIJzdAJS47K9CaG4pPITPGpaIWeExKn3k2BimW8iilrOz1gGspV7LRrYQi92I2yI0Lx-dlDMj2LFrM0_wA=w3440-h1334-rw At least the wideband lambda has its own plug. :)

Re: Knock sensor - shielded cable?

Sorry to resurrect/hijack this thread. My mapper has advised me to replace the standard knock sensor with a Bosch wideband one with a shielded cable. Where do I connect the shielding wire too?

Re: Impreza trouble starting

Sorry for the delay.

Reply - "Hi David,

That would be a fueling issue on startup, I would get in touch with your tuner to get this solved, should be a fairly easy fix"

Re: Impreza trouble starting

Only in the first log. In the other long startups, runmode says "Run", even though RPM is in the "Crank" range (below 600rpm) Not sure how to interpret those starting fuel log values, my starting logs also show that doubling of final fuel when cranking. Think it's best at this p...

Re: Impreza trouble starting

I don't see it as in run mode. I see the line showing CRANK then going up to RUN as it gets to 600rpm. But I may be interpreting it incorrectly. The bit that gets me is this bit on the long cranks, where it starts with a low fueling (red circle) then halfway through the crank it doubles the fuel (bl...

Re: Impreza trouble starting

I think the problem is inconsistency. Which may mean it's not entirely a fueling issue. For example, last week with an outside temp of about 15 degrees and the engine stone cold it started first turn. Yesterday, same outside temp, stone cold engine, crank and crank then spluttery start. Then there i...

Re: Impreza trouble starting

Really this sort of thing needs experienced eyes sitting there with the car whilst testing this. Trying to do it remotely can end up very frustrating for both parties. 100% totally agree. I just haven't got anyone close by who can/will map/fiddle with it. So I'm grateful for any and all input. I'm ...
