Re: ACD and AYC

Teaches me to look properly first, and I should have known that you guys would already have it figured! I like that it is throttle and speed dependent, ever any need for lateral G or steering angle manipulation? What about controlling the rear diff on an Evo, then? I'd probably just use a mechanical...

ACD and AYC

Hello chaps, Have you guys played about with controlling the ACD and AYC on the Evo's 7-9 directly with your ecu yet? Any thoughts on possible strategies etc? I've got idea's of retrofitting the drivetrain elsewhere, and wondered if the chassis controllers needed to be used from the Evo, or if there...

Re: Syvecs Boost Solenoid Plumbing Info

The only methods that I have tried thus far are the two mentioned above. I had always plumbed external gates this way until I experienced the problem I mentioned with erratic control. I guess I had always just gotten away with it due to running low levels of boost on un-built NA motors. Would you mi...

Re: Syvecs Boost Solenoid Plumbing Info

Tim, You have just reminded me of an experience with the Pierburg and an external wastegate. I plumbed it in the manner that I would describe as "normal", in that I had a straight pressure reference going to the "open" side of the gate, and then had the valve venting the "cl...

Re: Syvecs Boost Solenoid Plumbing Info

Thanks for the replies! The only thing that had put me on to the Pierburg ones was that they come standard on the Vauxhall Astra's we have been playing with. They just seemed a nice little unit that hadn't given any issues thus far. I shall remember this advice if we are asked to do something with h...

Re: Syvecs Boost Solenoid Plumbing Info

Thanks for sharing this info Pat and Ryan, it is very interesting, I had never considered what is going on inside the actual solenoid before now. I see a lot of these Pierburg style boost solenoids used, and use them almost exclusively now myself, albeit on relatively low boost applications. At what...
