Check that the 12v feed to the Ecu isnt disappearing when your engising the starter, If that fails I'd check to see what voltage you have at the battery terminals whilst cranking and then compare this to the voltage at the ecu pins when cranking. I know you post updates here, but how about having mailing lists that you can subscribe to so that when new firmware or new releases of SCAL etc are uploaded to the site, you get a mail letting you know that x version is now available.. not too hard to code Pat :p
