MOTEC PDM

Hi folks, been a while since I last visited the forum but hopefully THIS year will see S8 purchased!! I've gone and bought a MOTEC PDM30 and would like to confirm that the S8 and PDM will be able to communicate with each other over CAN? Is it possible for the S8 to log data from the PDM??? As an exa...

Re: More water / meth injection

Yes, silly me..... Thanks for the detailed reply, most of which has gone over my head in relation to the 'how' bit of doing it in the ECU software  As for the flow control, you're absolutely correct!!! It'll be the solenoid controlling flow NOT the pump in the config I have in my head :) I sh...

Re: More water / meth injection

Apologies for dragging this up again......Looking to get this sorted out once and for all and get it installed prior to ECU purchase.... Am I right in saying that if I buy a pump, solenoid, nozzle(s), pipework, tank and external full bridge then I can connect an ECU output to the full bridge to cont...

Wideband lambda operating current

Hi folks, just about to spec some Deutsch Autosport connectors for my NTK LZA-09-E1 wideband sensor I'm shortly to purchase However, what I need to know is what would be the highest current the sensor (and by that I'm specifically meaning pump and heater) would draw? TBH, I can't even hazard a guess...

Re: Which ECU for S65... F88?

Connecting ANY engine up to an ECU isn't difficult. It's just a case of identifying all the appropriate sensors and wiring them in. I can't see how you would gain anything by moving to Pectel SQ6.... In fact, your install will be hugely simplified in that if you are shoehorning the S65 into an E30 t...

Re: More water / meth injection

Yes, sorry I actually MEANT ignition output but had injectors on the brain :D

So, just so i'm clear...you are suggesting that i could run the pump directly from the ECU using a full bridge?

More water / meth injection

Been giving water / meth injection a closer look of late and am swaying towards an EMS-based system from Coolingmist . I have searched for info about these systems on here but the only relevant stuff I could find was from some time ago... My question is this...with an S8, could I have the ECU direct...

Re: Timing scatter

Hi Mikey, I have gone for Andy's (of AMT) trigger kit to for my S8 install too. Its always struck me as odd why Nissan would choose to collect crank angle data from a cam-based sensor!!I mean, its not as if decent crank trigger setups were not available at that time. A crank-based trigger with phase...
